On May 28, the ARA of Washington hosted more than 100 attendees at a fun evening of Seattle Mariners baseball action at T-Mobile Park — complete with a buffet of ballpark fare in the Trident Deck, which offers stunning views of the park and city.
The game turned out to be a 6-0 Mariners victory over the visiting Houston Astros, and ARA of Washington members cheered on the home team in style from the newly renovated Trident Deck while enjoying a
burger/hot dog buffet and access to a private bar.
“The outing was a great get-together. Mac [Megan “Mac” Whittlesey, CERP, manager, Ideal Rent-All, Mount Vernon, Wash., and ARA of Washington secretary] went out of her way to make it happen and did a great job of getting stores together. My only complaint was the weather!” says Larry Steele, president, Aurora Rents, Shoreline, Wash., who also serves on the ARA of Washington board of directors.
“The Mariners won. It was a great game and a great event," says Kelly Sloggett of NW Quik Pull, Battle Ground, Wash.
"It was nice being in a fun environment and being able to meet other ARA members. We look forward to more events with the ARA of Washington,” adds Rowdy Sloggett.
As the organizer of the event, Whittlesey also was pleased with the outcome and is encouraged about what the participation means for the future of the state chapter and the industry.
“We had such a fun event — there were so many new faces,” she says. “I noticed a lot of stores gave the tickets to employees. We’re starting to see a younger generation come to events like this because they are attractive, fun and offer the opportunity to network. Networking is vital to any industry, but particularly to new, upcoming rental superstars.”
