Adam Rabe, director of business development, Sunbelt Rentals, Fort Mill, S.C., has been elected to the ARA of South Carolina board of directors as its newest member.
Rabe has been with Sunbelt Rentals for 12 years. During his time in the equipment rental industry, he has “worked in almost every capacity at the branch level, including counter, outside sales and branch manager,” he says.
Since transitioning into the business development role with Sunbelt Rentals approximately five years ago, Rabe has traveled the country to help the company open new locations and work with acquired locations as they are integrated into the Sunbelt organization. His experience with local and national markets has given him a broad perspective of the industry — a factor that led to the invitation to join the state chapter’s leadership team.
“The president of the ARA of South Carolina board, Warren Clayton [president, Asheville Hwy Rental, Spartanburg, S.C.], reached out and inquired about my interest. We discussed the opportunity and his upcoming plans for the chapter. I was interested to be part of it and thought I would be able to contribute and bring a unique perspective based on my experience with Sunbelt,” Rabe says.
While giving back to the industry is Rabe’s primary goal for serving on the board, he also says that with volunteer service “there is a great opportunity to provide insight into the future of the industry and how we all can benefit from upcoming changes. I think training, education, safety and technology are a few areas that will have a heightened level of awareness in the years to come.”
