A four-part online education series held from March-June and hosted by the ARA of Mississippi was designed to help the management teams of those within the equipment and event rental industry improve their influence and impact change.
The series was presented by Lee Ann Piano, an empowerment expert in the areas of leadership development and women’s empowerment.
Piano’s first session, offered on March 4, was titled “Communicating Through Personality Styles” and highlighted how — by understanding your own as well as others’ individual personality style — you can achieve a greater level of honesty, excellence, accountability, resilience and performance as a team player.
Then, on April 8, “The Art of Collaboration” was offered. This session stressed how offering a collaborative atmosphere — where ideas and initiatives are generated by team members — helps to prevent employees from looking for opportunities elsewhere.
Next up, on May 6, “Handling ‘Hard to Handle’ People” was presented, where participants learned techniques for getting adversaries to cooperate and ways to manage bullies and serial complainers.
The final installment in the series on June 3 was “Hire, Inspire & Retain Valuable Team Players.” In an industry environment where it’s more important than ever to attract and keep good employees, this session provided lessons on establishing a culture that will appeal to the right people, boost employee morale, and enhance performance and overall growth.
“I can’t speak more highly of Lee Ann Piano and her leadership sessions,” says Matt Pare, regional account manager, Aztec Tents, Torrance, Calif., and an ARA of Mississippi board member. “She not only helped me identify my personality traits but also the personality trait of others. Then, she gave you the tools to communicate effectively with every person in every situation you come in contact with, not only in your professional life but also in your personal life. I truly wish I would’ve attended one of her sessions many years ago — five stars all the way.”
