A message from your regional director

We’re coming back, Region Seven members!

While we haven’t completely conquered COVID, we have made terrific progress, thanks to the vaccines. States are starting to open back up, with Colorado opening to 100 percent capacity this month. You can feel the energy shifting. Our rental businesses are seeing the influx, including our party and event operations. This is exciting.

• Finding qualified help. With all this increased activity, I know that rental operations are having difficulty finding employees. Be sure to use the American Rental Association (ARA) Job Board. Every member receives five free postings on the site, so take advantage of them. In this issue of In Your Region, learn what else ARA is doing to address this issue and look for additional insights in the August issue of Rental Management. Also, access the new Clean. Safe. Essential. program to see how that can help you onboard and retain drivers. 

• Had a great meeting on OSHA. The ARA of Colorado and the ARA of Arizona had extremely informative and interactive meetings with ARA’s Kevin Gern presenting “OSHA’s at Your Door. Are you Ready?” Everyone enjoyed learning how to prepare their operations for a possible OSHA visit. 

• The ARA Show™ will be in Las Vegas this October. It will be the time for everyone in rental to connect, buy and learn. If you haven’t registered yet, now is the time. Go to ARAshow.org. 

• Denver will be the site of the second Community Impact project. Colorado members will have the chance to show the benefits of renting as well as help their community when they take part in the joint project of the ARA Foundation and the Toro Company Foundation. Read the story in this edition of In Your Region and learn how you can take part. 

• Congratulations to the recent ARA Foundation and affiliate scholarship recipient from our region. This is a great achievement and opportunity. Find out more about this scholarship winner in this edition.

As we move forward, let’s not forget what we have been through. Be safe, remain vigilant in your cleaning protocols, stay connected through ARA’s Event Rental and Equipment Rental Facebook pages and get vaccinated, if you’re able, to make this a wonderful reopening.
