On Wednesday, April 7, American Rental Association (ARA) members in Iowa got together to kick off the spring rental season with a refresher on state Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations that impact rental operators.
The meeting, “Iowa Dept. of Transportation Updates — Stay in Compliance on the Road,” was hosted at Mid Country Machinery, Bondurant, Iowa, and was just what those involved in the Iowa rental industry were looking for as the time for equipment transportation ramps up.
“I really was impressed with the turnout of companies and involvement — I think everyone is ready for the construction season and ready to move forward,” says Dave Hehr, president, Contractor Solutions, Des Moines, Iowa, and ARA of Iowa president.
Following a meal and social hour, Iowa DOT officer Christopher Boswell shared the current laws and updates, and provided a road map for how businesses can adopt the changes and stay up to date on the newest regulations.
The relevant subject matter and the opportunity to tour the host’s new facility proved to be a successful combination for those in attendance.
“The Mid Country location in Bondurant was recently built and it was great to tour their amazing facility, and the DOT officer was very detailed and had a lot of great information. This was a great event to start the spring for the ARA of Iowa,” Hehr says.
