Whether by car, truck, hot rod or motorcycle, members of Minnesota’s equipment and event rental community are invited to get together for a couple of days on the road each July to take in the scenery, relax and enjoy some great company. This year’s cruise was another successful installment in that tradition of on-the-road fun.
Setting out from Denny’s restaurant in Rogers, Minn., this year’s cruise took the rental road warriors on a trek through central Minnesota, culminating in a pontoon boat excursion on Green Lake in Spicer, Minn., a lot of great food and chats lasting into the wee hours.
Those who participated say that, as ever, the highlight of the cruise was the networking with industry friends.
“We started off the cruise from Denny’s and we asked a restaurant patron to take a picture of the group. She asked, ‘What’s the occasion — family reunion or something?’ Walt replied, ‘Friendship,’ which we all thought was very appropriate, because that was the occasion,” says Scott Fahey, salesman, Lano Equipment, Anoka, Minn., relaying the sentiment expressed by Walt Linder, marketing director, Great Northern Equipment, Rogers, Minn.
“This year we had two motorcycles, one car — a 2008 Shelby Mustang, one SUV and five pickups,” says Doug Haas, president and CEO, Crown Rental, Burnsville, Minn., who also serves as American Rental Association (ARA) Region Six director. “We have been doing this cruise since 2004. It has always been a great time and this year was no different. A special thanks to our sponsors, Snorkel, Attema Sales and Makita.”
“The summer cruise was great as always. Visiting with old friends and talking business is the highlight of the event,” says another longtime cruiser, Jerry Kortesmaki, owner, London Road Rental Center, Duluth, Minn.
