Allison McIntosh, operations manager, Taylor True Value Rental, Concord, N.H., has taken on the role of president for the ARA of New Hampshire. She succeeds Mark Fraser, owner, Epsom Tool Rental, Epsom, N.H.
Taylor True Value Rental was established in 1971 by the Dartnell family, who continue to operate the company today. McIntosh started with Taylor True Value Rental in 2019 as a part-time customer service representative and worked her way up to her current position, through which she is responsible for managing the store's strategic planning, performance and processes. She joined the ARA of New Hampshire board in 2021 and has served for the past year as secretary.
McIntosh says that as president, she wants to set the bar high for those who join the state chapter’s leadership team in service to American Rental Association (ARA) members in the state.
“It is important to me that we start the next year with clear expectations for our board members and meetings. I am looking forward to setting those expectations with my peers so we can better serve our New Hampshire members,” she says.
McIntosh also has plans to develop a more flexible schedule for meetings of the state chapter board; she feels this may help to make board service more palatable to busy rental professionals. “One of my goals as president is to restructure board meetings so the bulk of yearly meetings happen during the slower season when our members are able to be more active, and during our busiest season we can meet remotely. I believe this will entice more involvement, knowing that it won’t interfere with day-to-day operations during the busy season,” she says.
With a nod to the history of the ARA of New Hampshire, McIntosh says she is ready to get to work with her team on the board to spark a period of renewed activity in the ARA state chapter.
“The ARA of New Hampshire has historically been a very active group. I look forward to joining forces with my peers to bring that involvement back up and really work together to promote the rental industry,” McIntosh says.
