Kennards Hire acquires Redi Hire Solutions

Apr. 03, 2022

Kennards Hire, Seven Hills, New South Wales, Australia, has acquired Redi Hire Solutions, Geraldton, Western Australia, Australia, bringing its Western Australian branch network to 22.

Building on a strong existing presence in Australia’s most western state, the 6,000-sq.-m. site is north of Kennards Hire’s existing Joondalup Branch, helping to strategically bridge the network in the midwest between Perth and the Pilbara.

Geraldton’s new Branch Manager Dylan Moebius, said, “Kennards Hire is excited to be expanding its regional network in Western Australia (WA). Having recently celebrated 21 years since we opened our first branch in WA, we continue to see great opportunities for growth and the Redi Hire Solutions acquisition increases our footprint in a growing market.”

With more than a decade of hire industry experience, Moebius started his career with Kennards Hire at their Balcatta Branch as a casual service person driver at the age of 19, and previously held the role of branch manager, Port Hedland before taking on the Geraldton role.

He is excited to bring his experience to the area and continue the hire business legacy grown in Geraldton by the husband-and-wife team, Leslie and Fiona Panting who are retiring. Fiona’s brothers — Mark and David Stewart — are continuing their family tradition and have joined the Kennards Hire team alongside all other employees at the Geraldton Branch.

“We are delighted to have the original business team and family members stay on with us. They bring with them local knowledge and experience and will be great assets to the business. We deeply value family and community at Kennards Hire and to be able to share these values right away is a great way to start here for us in Geraldton,” Moebius said.

Kennards Hire is eager to build on local community relationships and will continue the existing sponsorship of the local bowls club, with ambitions to further sponsor and be involved with community field days.

“As a family-owned business, it’s really important to us that we are able to give back and continue supporting the communities where our people live and work,” Dylan said.

With local mining, farming and industrial markets near the port, there is a strong demand for high quality equipment in the region. The Geraldton branch offers a vast range of specialist gear, including mining shutdown equipment like 185- and 400-cfm compressors, 600-amp welders, 2 to 350 kVa generators, torquing and lifting equipment and concrete cutting and grinding equipment. It also carries a wide variety of general equipment for DIY and trade projects.
