It’s raining iguanas!

Jan. 30, 2022

A weird weather alert out of South Florida is warning people about the chance of falling iguanas. During the past week, low temperatures in the area were forecasted to fall below 40 degrees. When that happens, cold-blood iguanas — which typically sleep in trees during colder weather — can become stunned and fall to the ground.

The reptiles are likely still alive, just cold stunned and often recover quickly and begin moving again once the sun is out and temperatures rise.
