Broderson Manufacturing Corp. deck crane

Feb. 21, 2021

The 20 U.S.-ton capacity IC-280-A industrial carry deck crane from Broderson Manufacturing Corp., Lenexa, Kan., includes telematics as standard equipment. The crane features a 64 ft. 5 in. four-section, full power boom, a compact boom head and a 20-ft. boom extension that offsets at 0, 15 and 30 degrees.

The maximum sheave height with the boom extension is 88 ft. 9 in. A two-speed hoist with 12,500 lb. bare drum line pull with a maximum line speed of 186 ft./min. maintains hook speed when multi-part reeving is used on the crane. All hydraulic functions are controlled through direct-operated hydraulic controls.

The company has added a third mid-extension position to the out-and-down outriggers, which enable more setup flexibility and better utilization of the crane capacity in tight workspaces. Removable 11-in.-diameter nylon outrigger shoes are standard and 20-in.-diameter shoes are optional when a lower outrigger ground-bearing pressure is needed.

Engine options for the crane include a 120-hp Cummins QSF, Tier 4 diesel or GM 5.7L V8 LPG. The engine, combined with a four-speed powershift transmission, provides a maximum travel speed up to 18 mph, maximum drawbar pull of 18,100 lbs. and maximum calculated gradeability of 64 percent. Telematics will allow owners to access location, operating hours, utilization, engine and maintenance information through both online and mobile platforms.
