The Commerce Department recently reported a second consecutive drop in the U.S. gross domestic product (GDP). While that isn’t a definitive marker of a recession, it is a key indicator. The federal reserve also has stated that it is more concerned about battling inflation than preventing a recession.

Traditionally, equipment rental companies depend on the inside team to focus their time on inbound calls and the outside team to have their boots on job sites. This is a proven model for business-to-business (B2B) sales with contractors.

When I talk to rental companies, by far their biggest concern in their business — aside from supply chain issues — is the shortage of skilled labor. 

With supply constrained and The ARA ShowTM scheduled for Oct. 17-20 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, this is shaping up to be another unusual year.
