5K and auction offer chance to support ARA Foundation programs

Two new ways to give back to the industry

The Virtual 5K and Online Auction offered during The ARA Show™ 2021 will deliver two new avenues for show attendees and exhibitors to show support for the ARA Foundation and its programs.

The Virtual 5K — sponsored by FTG Equipment Solutions, John Deere, Point of Rental Software, and Sullair, A Hitachi Group Co. — will be featured at the show on Tuesday, Oct. 19. Participants can support the ARA Foundation by wearing a specially-designed race shirt and tracking their steps on the show floor that day. The 5K can be completed anytime, anywhere from Oct. 17-31.

Registration is $35 per person and will include a shirt, medal and fun items from the sponsors. Visit runsignup.com/Race/NV/Virtual/ARAFoundationVirtual5K to learn more and register.

The Online Auction will run from Thursday, Oct. 14, through Monday, Oct. 25, and feature items donated by ARA associate member companies. In the tradition of past ARA Foundation auction fundraisers, a variety of items appealing to all industry segments will be up for bid. Some examples include:

“Pink Celebration Edition” air compressor donated by Sullair, A Hitachi Group Co.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in support of those who are winning their fight, and in memory of those who fought the valiant fight, Sullair,
A Hitachi Group Co., Chicago, has developed the 185 Tier 4 Final Air Compressor Pink Celebration Edition. Sullair employees will sign the unit with notes of memory or encouragement for friends, relatives, colleagues and others.

Disney vacation package donated by Toro
This package, donated by Toro, Bloomington, Minn., includes one room/three nights’ lodging for up to four at the Caribbean Beach; Coronado Springs; Port Orleans French Quarter or Port Orleans Riverside resort (based upon availability), and up to four daily passes for three days (one park/one day) to the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot Center and Hollywood Studios.

Frame tent with top and frame donated by Aztec Tents
Aztec Tents, Torrance, Calif., has donated a 20-by-20-by-8-ft. Festival CAN-T tent with top and frame, which the company says is a great product for new as well as established rental companies looking for a lighter weight frame tent solution that helps you save on labor costs each time the tent is installed. The tent is constructed with a 16-oz. blockout white vinyl top, along with frame, fittings, cables, mast, tiedowns and stakes. The tent has American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 7-10 Wind Certification at 56 mph.

All auction proceeds are invested back into the ARA Foundation — a public, charitable 501(c)3 organization — to support its programs, which include scholarships, employee training assistance, disaster relief and the Community Impact Program partnership with The Toro Company Foundation.
