Rental Management on the Air: Hitachi brings new excavators to market

Hitachi Construction Machinery Americas (HCMA), Newnan, Ga., a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery (HCM), Tokyo, introduced three new excavators during a press event on May 19, at the Callaway Resort & Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga.

Hitachi started building its roots in the U.S. in 1988 when Deere-Hitachi Construction Corp. opened in Kernersville, N.C. In August 2021, HCM and John Deere dissolved their 33-year joint venture agreement for the manufacturing and distribution of excavators in North, Central and South America. On March 1, 2022, HCMA officially began leading the Hitachi brand’s construction and mining equipment sales and service support efforts. The company is looking to a future of growth in North America and Latin America with rental playing a key role in those plans, company officials said.

HCMA’s products include wheel loaders of all sizes, compact- and construction-sized hydraulic excavators, ultra-large mining excavators and mining haul trucks. Watch the video below to learn more about the company’s products and future plans.
