The American Rental Association established the Rental Hall of Fame in 2000 to honor individuals who have shaped the equipment and event rental industry through vision and leadership. Each year, nominations are accepted to recognize outstanding leaders who have made a lasting impact on the industry's success and growth at the national and international levels. New inductees are celebrated at a ceremony during The ARA Show™.

Any individual associated with the equipment and event rental industry whose significant contribution changed the industry in a positive manner is eligible for consideration. A nominee’s eligibility to be elected to, and remain a part of, the Rental Hall of Fame shall be based upon the nominee’s integrity, character and contribution to the equipment and event rental industry over the years.
The members of the Rental Hall of Fame Selection Committee and members on all ARA Boards during the year of nomination and induction are ineligible. Current and past staff members of ARA and its subsidiary organizations are also ineligible.
Inductees into the Rental Hall of Fame should exemplify key guiding principles. Nominees will be scored based on the following criteria. Commentary and supporting documentation that demonstrates the depth and scope of the nominee’s specific contributions should be included.
Qualified nominations for the Rental Hall of Fame will be reviewed and rated by the Rental Hall of Fame Selection Committee, which is led by the ARA board chair. Committee members include the officers of the ARA Board of Directors, ARA past president representatives and ARA staff.
Candidates are evaluated based on eligibility to meet the Rental Hall of Fame criteria. The committee’s decision shall be presented to the ARA board of directors for ratification. Each inductee shall be notified of their selection by the ARA board chair. ARA does not notify those nominating individuals of the status of their nominee. A public announcement is made once the inductee selections have been made and inductees notified.
The ARA board chair shall host the induction ceremony during ARA’s Industry Awards Lunch at The ARA Show. Nominators of the inductees may be invited to participate in the presentation.
Inductees will be formally recognized at The ARA Show and featured in news releases, and ARA publications. Each inductee and one guest will receive complimentary registrations to The ARA Show, round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for the evenings prior to and after the ceremony.
