On Location: Doosan Infracore North America — Dec. 1, 2021

Doosan Infracore North America highlights new products

Doosan Infracore North America introduced a new line of models on Dec. 1 at The Real Operation Center (ROC), the company’s hands-on product testing site in Tucson, Ariz. The event was attended by Edward Song, president and CEO, Doosan Infracore North America, and Todd Roecker, newly-named vice president of growth initiatives for the company.

Also on hand were Doosan product specialists to discuss and demonstrate machines to be released in 2022, including a dozer, mini excavators, crawler excavators and an expanded wheel loader lineup.

In August 2021, Doosan Infracore North America, headquartered in Suwanee, Ga., was sold to Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings Co. (HHIH). Song, who became CEO at Doosan Infracore North America in 2018, said the sale should only benefit Doosan Infracore’s goal of continued growth in North America.

As for the new products, Song said, “We’re going to share the values of these products and continue to make adjustments and modifications to better serve our customers.”

Those customers include the equipment rental industry, Song said.

“In North America, we just need to get better exposure, better brand awareness and work hard to get a stronger position in the market,” Song said. “We want to improve our market share very aggressively in a short time period.”

Roecker said globally, Doosan Infracore has aggressive plans to be a top five company in the general construction equipment industry as far as revenue dollars. A major part of that growth will come, he said, from expanding the product lineup and adding more dealer locations.

“Because we have a clear, long-term commitment that our distribution and brand will be kept independent of Hyundai Construction Equipment (HCE), we are able to maintain our aggressive plan of adding new products and investing with our customers, dealers and staff,” Roecker said.

“If we have more tools in the toolbox for customers and dealers to invest in Doosan, those revenue dollars jump much quicker. For rental, we have a team dedicated to building that relationship with the large national accounts and the smaller locally owned and operated rental companies,” he said.

Some of the new products the company plans to introduce in 2022 include:

Dozers

DD100

The 122-hp DD100 dozer features a dual/single flange-type roller with several track guard options. The machine is equipped with an 8-in. Options include the company’s 3D Machine Guidance and 3D Machine Control features for greater accuracy and ease of operation.

Other features include a 3 ft. 7 in. standard thumb-ready arm and an 11.8-in. rubber track undercarriage. The DoosanCONNECT Telematics system comes standard to remotely monitor and maintain the machine.

DX35Z-7

The 24.7-hp DX35Z-7 mini excavator features a zero tail swing design with a rounded shape, making it easier to navigate on confined or crowded work sites. An enclosed cab, new heating and cooling system, 5.7-in. full-color LCD monitor and DoosanCONNECT Telematics are standard.
