Incoming ARA Region Three director eager to promote volunteerism

Serving on the ARA of North Carolina board in a variety of capacities for many years and as part of the American Rental Association (ARA) Government Affairs Committee and The ARA Show™ Task Force, has given John Scott, owner and managing partner, First Source Equipment Rentals, Burlington, N.C., a deep appreciation for what involvement in the association can do for one’s career. When he assumes his new role as ARA Region Three director this spring, he looks forward to spreading the word about the benefits that kind of involvement can deliver.

“Everything that I have volunteered for or been nominated to with regards to ARA, I have always said, ‘Yes,’” Scott says. “The reason is because it is a great organization that truly benefits its members. I want to help other members realize how much it could help them if they would just say, ‘Yes.’ This industry is amazing in terms of how willing people are to help each other grow.”

Scott will succeed Jeff Crotto, CERP, president, All About Events – Jacksonville, Jacksonville, Fla., as Region Three director in March 2022.

Looking ahead to his role on the ARA board, Scott says he is ready to add new ideas and suggestions that can have a lasting impact on the equipment and event rental industry.

“I am honored to be part of the team that brings new ideas and helps solve problems for members,” he says.
