The ARA Show™ in Las Vegas has just concluded. I hope those who attended the show enjoyed it. While we celebrated the industry safely in Vegas, reminders were everywhere that the pandemic still smolders. It reminded me that in the rental industry, we truly are one big family. I have witnessed support among rental people that you won’t find in most businesses. It seems the tougher things get, the tighter our bonds become. That’s a special thing.
One tough reality we all are facing now is the lack of manpower. It seems that this is all I have heard about from rental folks for the last year-and-a-half. It continues not just for our region but for all. How do we fix it? I’m not sure, but the American Rental Association (ARA) Job Board is a great place to start.
The ARA Job Board was designed to help those of us in the equipment and event rental industry who are struggling to fill open positions. ARA members also can take advantage of five free 90-day job postings. The listings on the ARA Job Board are pushed to tech schools’ job boards, plus Careerbuilder.com, Military.com, Google Jobs and Facebook Jobs. That means a lot of eyes will see your posted openings. If you are fortunate enough to bring new hires on board, and even for your current staff, take some time this fall and winter to utilize RentalU — ARA’s online education platform.
