On July 17, members of the New Hampshire equipment and event rental community took advantage of the opportunity to treat their hardworking staff and family to lunch and a day at Canobie Lake Park, Salem, N.H. — all at a discounted price courtesy of the ARA of New Hampshire.
More than 85 rides, games, attractions and the Castaway Island Water Park were on tap for participants like Ernie Wilkins, Jr., branch manager of Ready Equipment, Meredith, N.H., who brought five of his family members along for the fun.
“It’s always a great time there. It was the first time for one of the girls on the Yankee Cannon Ball — she had a blast! Lunch was good and well organized. I’m looking forward to the next one,” Wilkins says.
Allison McIntosh, operations manager, Taylor True Value Rental, Concord, N.H., and ARA of New Hampshire president, was more than pleased with how the event turned out.
“It was stellar,” she says. “We had perfect weather and an excellent turnout. After the event sold out, we increased the sales by 25 percent and ended up with more attendees than we could’ve imagined. The catered luncheon was a great opportunity for all of our families to meet and socialize. Our ARA of New Hampshire board members greeted all attendees at the entrance to the luncheon, which gave us the chance to introduce ourselves to all members in attendance. We also had the pleasure of visiting with Dan Morris [general manager, Kennebec Equipment Rental, Fairfield, Maine, and ARA of Maine vice president], who brought his whole family down to support us. Overall, I would say the entire event was a huge success. My family and team had a blast and can’t wait to go back next year. Another successful event in the books!”
Billy Paquette, account manager with Gorham, N.H.-based Milton Rents and ARA of New Hampshire vice president, also was thrilled with the festivities.
“I had an incredible experience at Canobie Lake Park,” Paquette says. “I know how important team building is, especially when you get a chance with people that you work with. Any opportunity to strengthen that relationship, I'm all over it. I had one coworker attend with me and my girlfriend as well. My favorite part was going on the rides with my people, and I also enjoyed the catering. I'll be back next year, for sure.”
