The current American National Standards Institute (ANSI) A92 Suite of Standards pertaining to mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) went into effect on June 1, 2020. With these standards now in use, it is important for rental operators to stay in compliance and be ready to provide MEWP training to those in the industry who need it.
On Tuesday, June 14, and Wednesday, June 15, the ARA of Washington hosted in-person, hands-on sessions — presented by Tom Meluskey from Genie, A Terex Brand — that enabled members to get up to speed on the ANSI A92 standards. The full-day sessions took place at Oxford Suites hotel in Spokane, Wash.
Participants gathered for a pre-workshop welcome reception and dinner at Clinkerdagger restaurant on Monday, June 13.
Tuesday’s sessions were centered around MEWP Train-the-Trainer while Wednesday’s session offered a Telehandler Train-the-Trainer courses. Both days of training featured classroom and hands-on training, and attendees who successfully completed the trainings received a trainer/operator card and certificate of completion.
