Alex Wetherell, sales manager, Double Edge Equipment, Idaho Falls, Idaho, has joined the ARA of Idaho board of directors.
Wetherell has spent his entire rental career in southeast Idaho working for Double Edge Equipment — a construction equipment rental provider established in 2013 — and feels that he is well positioned, career-wise, to ride the wave of expansion that his area is experiencing.
“This area is growing exponentially and there is room for growth,” he says.
Wetherell says he learned of the opportunity to become part of the ARA of Idaho board of directors while participating in a recent industry training event offered by the American Rental Association (ARA) state chapter.
“ARA of Idaho sponsored a train-the-trainer event for MEWPs [mobile elevating work platforms] and I was able to meet a few members of the board while at the training,” he says. “It was great to network with them and realize that there was a need for a representative from the east side of the state that is growing rapidly.”
Always ready to jump on opportunities for personal and professional self-improvement, Wetherell quickly answered the call to get involved with the ARA of Idaho leadership team. “I am always looking for ways to learn more about the industry, to network and gain more experience. Joining the ARA of Idaho board seemed like a great way to accomplish both of those goals,” he says.
As to goals for his tenure on the ARA of Idaho board, Wetherell says that to start off, he is simply “excited to help others learn more about the resources ARA has and how they can help businesses grow in our area.”
Away from the world of equipment rentals, Wetherell says that he “loves watching sports, playing golf and enjoying the Idaho mountains.”
