H.E.A.T. was on at March member meeting

On March 24, Grand Rental Station in Hackettstown, N.J., hosted an ARA of New Jersey event centered around H.E.A.T. — Hostile Environment Awareness Training.

The course, a hyper-realistic, full-immersion-based scenario training program, was presented by Lawrence Wilson, president and CFO of Velumcore, an organization that provides hands-on skills to increase your chances of survival if you find yourself in a life-threatening scenario while at work or at home.

Wilson's situational awareness exercises covered:

  • Planning and self-sufficiency
  • Emergency trauma first aid
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Personal and vehicle security

In addition to the presentation, attendees enjoyed a store tour, dinner and drinks.
