Those who are part of the rental community in Region Nine can give back, build public awareness and demonstrate the advantages of rental by taking part in the next Community Impact Program. This program is a joint effort of the ARA Foundation and the Toro Company Foundation.
The next project is planned for Wednesday, May 11, at My Friend’s House, a shelter in Vacaville, Calif., for homeless and at-risk young adults between the ages of 18 and 24.
The project will involve renovating the garage into office space so it frees up another room in the house, allowing the shelter to take in more residents. In addition, there will be outdoor beautification work, including gardening and repairing the concrete driveway.
Volunteer opportunities are available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for all skill levels. So, whether participants can offer manual labor or equipment, all will be needed and welcome. In addition, the ARA of California will provide lunch for everyone.
