EventWorks acquires Crush Event Design

EventWorks, Charleston, S.C., has recapitalized and acquired Crush Event Design, Charleston, a boutique rental and design company offering draping, lighting, decor, lounge groupings, unique tables and bars, and other specialty items for nearly a decade.

The strategic decision to unify the organization will grow the current services and inventory offered at EventWorks to include unique and specialized products as well as enhanced services, the company says.

“Crush Event Design takes tremendous pride in providing unique offerings for well-designed events and bringing visions to reality. We are so excited to rebrand under EventWorks so that we can continue to offer truly remarkable events to an even larger clientele,” said Tracy Smith, founder and creative director, Crush Event Design. “Extraordinary is our goal and we cannot wait to continue this goal as part of the EventWorks group.”

Leadership and staffing will remain the same at Crush Event Design. All inventory will eventually be aligned under one company’s internal rental systems, offering event planners and professionals a premium and effortless client experience.

“What we are doing with the Crush Event Design team is something EventWorks has never done before, and we could not be more thrilled for the opportunity. Bringing Crush under our umbrella will allow EventWorks to not only expand our selection but also offer new and valuable experience and services to our clients,” said Mike Schmidt, CEO and president, EventWorks. “We are excited to merge these two complementary and like-minded organizations of exceptional quality and luxury event decor and believe it will add tremendous value and growth to the EventWorks brand.”

With showrooms, rental resources and experienced staff spread across the Southeast, EventWorks can fulfill orders and provide on-site solutions for events hosted throughout the region. The company’s capabilities are wide-reaching, but its service is personalized, fulfilled by its local full-service locations and the EventWorks’ team’s commitment to fostering connections in each of the communities they serve.

This expansion will employ 340 team members and manage more than 375,000 sq. ft. of warehoused equipment company-wide, supporting approximately 22,000 events each year.
