ARA Leading the Industry
The American Rental Association (ARA) is the international trade association for owners of equipment rental businesses and manufacturers and suppliers of rental equipment. Our current membership includes more than 8,000 rental businesses and nearly 1,000 manufacturers and suppliers.
ARA members are located in all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, the Canadian provinces and more than 40 countries around the world. The Canadian Rental Association is part of ARA, with Canada comprising ARA’s Region 10. ARA administers The Global Rental Alliance, a coalition of rental associations located throughout the world.
The ARA headquarters is located in Moline, Ill. ARA also has an office in Washington, D.C. ARA Insurance Services, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of ARA, is located in Kansas City, Mo., with independent insurance agents located throughout the country.
The association began in 1955 when 21 rental business owners met in Moline to discuss issues relevant to their businesses. Now in its sixth decade of operation, ARA serves as the principal trade association for the equipment rental industry. The association serves three broad categories of rental - construction and industrial equipment, general tool and homeowner equipment, and party and event equipment.
The ARA offers membership to rental store operators and companies that supply or manufacture equipment for the rental industry. ARA is a member-driven and member-dedicated association that is committed to providing a wide array of products and services that are of value to members - resources that help members run a more efficient, profitable and safe operation.
