Committee Overview
The following are ARA’s 2012 committees and their purposes.

A joint effort of both ARA and ARA Insurance, this committee helps to identify risks faced by the ARA members and suggests programs and communications that will assist the industry in reducing both the frequency and severity of losses and, thereby, insurance claims.
Advises ARA staff on the management, development and fundraising for ARAPAC, the federal political action committee of ARA. Members serve as ambassadors for ARAPAC.
Advise ARA on matters relevant to these segments of membership. The groups will address member needs and trends. Topics discussed will include, but not be limited to, all aspects of the rental business and what it takes for a business to be successful. How can ARA better assist you and support you? (Rental Management, Rental Pulse, The Rental Show, Events & Tents, etc.)
Responsible for developing and implementing the Events & Tents program at The Rental Show. The Events Task Force members are responsible for assisting ARA with specified seminar development and panel recruitment, optional activities, on-site preparations and acting as on-site moderators. In addition, task force members are responsible for participating in conference calls for each seminar to discuss content and coordinate the logistical details. Attendance at a prior year Events & Tents program is a prerequisite for membership in this task force.
Advises ARA on relevant matters of The Rental Show (trade show – including rules, regulations and exhibitor communication). Members of this committee serve as liaisons with exhibitors during The Rental Show and assist ARA in providing the most professional and successful trade show possible for exhibitors and attendees within The Rental Show program. Assists ARA in implementation of associate membership program.
Assists in developing the ARA legislative and regulatory agenda implemented throughout the year, as endorsed by the ARA board of directors; hosts and plans the National Legislative Caucus. Previous Caucus attendance is a prerequisite for members selected to serve.
Reviews information, offers suggestions and explores possibilities regarding the Certified Event Rental Professional Program (CERP). The program includes current courses, future courses, assessment of current and future offerings, as well as marketing and production of materials.
Advises ARA on matters relevant to this segment of membership. The group will address member needs and trends. Topics discussed will include, but not be limited to, all aspects of the rental business and what it takes for a buisness to be successful. How can ARA better assist you and support you? (Rental Management, Rental Pulse, The Rental Show, Events & Tents, etc.)
Works to refine and implement a total convention strategy for The Rental Show with the goal of a successful rental industry event, including international participation and attendance. Attendance at The Rental Show prior year is a prerequisite to serve on this task force.
